At UAPF, we firmly believe that, the best way to empower local communities, is by empowering people’s economic capacity and by generating self-sustainable livelihood options. To this end, we run a series of vocational training centers that allow people to become proficient in things that run 21st century India. These centers are either run solely by the foundation or in partnership with government and NGOs. The skills so far imparted are advance computer training, fashion designing, domestic wiring, home appliance repair, textile training in spinning, weaving and processing sector. In Maharashtra, the foundation had partnered with local NGO conduct state government affiliated MS-CIT course. Over 100 students were annually trained in advance computer skills until Dec 2016. At the Rajasthan center, 788 have picked up skills such as sewing and other hobby courses. The foundation has recently partnered with Maharashtra Sector Skill Development Society (MSSDS) to impart textile training to the youth at our factory, Morarjee Textiles Ltd, Nagpur.
The foundation has tied up with the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) to conduct various technical training for the youth in the state. By 2016 end over 500 youth have been skillfully trained and majority are either self employed or have been placed in various companies. Along with technical skills, the emphasis is also to groom the youth as responsible citizens and in this direction value education, personality development and communication sessions are conducted periodically.
UAPF as part of sustainable livelihoods started Block printing training at Bagar,Jhunjhunu District, Rajasthan. A Consultant Designer has been appointed to train the women; currently 25 women are undergoing the training. A unit has been developed with 3 tables, products are gradually being developed. The focus is to develop products and help women to market them. Within 2 week of training they have made beautiful products like Paper Bags, Cloth Bags, Table Runner, Napkin, Bed sheet etc...
 "REKH" is hand block printed products that promotes sustainable livelihoods. The vibrant and eco-friendly products are developed by the rural women at Bagar, By purchasing these products, you too are supporting empowerment of women.
